MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Saturday warned the public to take precautions when traveling by sea as the weather continued to be unpredictable. ”‘Dun sa mga maglalakbay, lalo na yung sa kargatan, ay mapanganib po ang magbiyahe kaya doble ingat [For those who are traveling, especially those going by sea, itÂ's dangerous to travel right now, so you must be especially careful],” said Pagasa spokesperson Nathaniel Cruz in an interview aired over QÂ’s Balitanghali. He said the seas along the Ilocos region as wekk as in Central Luzon, specifically in the provinces of Zambales and Bataan, would be dangerous. ”Maalon po ang karagatan kaya doble ang pag-iingat, lalo na ang mga mangingisda at yung maliliit na sasakyang pandagat [The seas have strong waves, so the public must be careful, especially the fishermen and those riding small vessels],” he said. Cruz said there is no storm prevailing but the heavy winds and rains are called by a monsoon trough. ”There is no signal but the southwest monsoon is strong, so we are warning those traveling,” he said.
