MANILA, Philippines — Government agents seized some 4,000 liters of crude oil believed smuggled from Malaysia after intercepting a motor launch off Palawan, a radio report said Saturday.
Radio dzBB reported that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested the eight crewmembers, one of them a 14-year-old boy, after finding the oil.
Sketchy initial reports showed an NBI team, acting on a tip, intercepted the ML Odyssey skippered by one Juanito Araco off Palawan.
